14-year-old boy succumbs to burn injuries after his elder brothers set him ablaze

A 14-year-old boy has succumbed to burn injuries after his elder brothers doused him in petrol and set him ablaze, Director of Criminal investigations has said.

He was undergoing treatment at Mandera County Teaching and Referral hospital.

The 14 year old was allegedly set a blaze by his brothers as one of them feared that he would testify against him as he was being accused of stealing a mobile phone.

According to the DCI, the two brothers, Ibrahim Ahmed and Yusuf Ahmed lured him to their house before rapping him up in a mattress and later setting him into a blaze. The police noticed fire in their house and went to the boy’s rescue.

He was later rushed to Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital, and the doctors established he had serious burns.

The brothers have since been arrested and inestigations are underway
